JP was my buddy for over 18 years. For many of those years, he “ruled the roost.” I loved cooking for him, playing with him, and sleeping with him. I would look forward to him welcoming me home. We even had “tea time” together, which set the stage for his evening nap. JP had a special way of showing his contentment, which pleased me. And he always made me smile. When age began to take its toll, the play time we enjoyed for many years turned to care time. Our daily routine was framed by a schedule for medication and medical treatments. Although JP’s sight was blurred, his hearing diminished, and his mobility limited - he knew I was loving him as much as ever. And for me, the companionship was still joyful. Yes - he always made me smile. I will remember JP forever. He was my “sweet baby” from the beginning to the end. Rest well, JP.
