Smudgie Malboeuf

Smudgie was a loving calico who was born into our family from her mom Paidge 15 years ago. Smudgie was only weeks older than our daughter. She slept in her cradle with her and watched over her almost everytime she took a nap. Smudgie had a dog friend named Brownie that she actually nursed on it was the strangest thing. But those two were inseparable until we moved away and brought Smudgie with us. Then Smudgie fell in love with our other cat that previously passed away in 2017 his name was Bagerrah. When we lost him we got a new kitten at just weeks old and Smudgie who had already had litters took to her immediately and tried to let her nurse. This kitten is Grace, and Grace is confused that her surrogate mom is now gone. Smudgie used to rub her face into my husbands beard and long hair when it was up and would plop herself wherever you were if you were eating ice-cream so she could have some too. Her favorite snack though was potato chips the salty kind even though we never gave her that many she still tried to get to you when she heard the bag. If she saw a bag of her other treats she would run and then we would put the bag open just enough for her and she would paw some out for herself. She was always sweet and loved being pet and belly rubs. Weirdly enough she also loved her toe being rubbed too! She loved paper bags and would always find one to play in or lay on, or she would make sure to get your attention by lying right at your feet while you were walking. She was so playful and loved the laser, she used to jump up and shut off the light switch if we walked the pointer up the wall. she would chase strings that were dangling and then play with them. Smudgie you will be missed by all of us. Forever in our hearts 💕 🐾 until we meet again on the other side of that Rainbow bridge.
